De diferente dos anos anteriores, foi a ausência de um anfitrião, que eu logo aprovei - o programa ficou bem mais ágil, que continue assim! Também foi o ano da volta do Pop, que havia sido obliterado pelo Hip Hop - e um pouco de Rock, é verdade - nas edições anteriores. Esse ano, como destaque, tivemos a performance de Justin Timberlake, que cantou e dançou por uns 15 minutos com direito até a mini revival do N'SYNC. Lady GaGa e Katy Perry mostraram seus novos singles e a apresentação de Miley Cyrus rendeu-lhe o topo dos Trending Topics no Twitter. Teve também espaço para Bruno Mars e Robin Thicke.
Justin Timberlake foi o grande vencedor da noite - saiu de lá com 4 astronautas. Levou o maior prêmio, o de Vídeo do Ano, e o de Melhor Direção, Melhor Edição e Melhor Vídeo Masculino.
